Page Sign-off for Confluence. Updated September 22, 2026.

Install

A Confluence site admin installs the app from the Atlassian Marketplace. No configuration is needed and nothing has to be enabled per space. Every licensed user can request a sign-off, and anyone who can read a page can be named as an approver on it.

Request a sign-off

1. Open the page.
2. Click the three dots at the top right of the page, then Request sign-off.
3. Pick one to five approvers with the people picker, then click Request sign-off.

Each approver is mentioned in a comment on the page. The page shows the sign-off as pending, along with how many approvers have decided.

You cannot name yourself as an approver on your own request, and approvers must be able to read the page. Only one request can be open on a page at a time.

Approve or reject

1. Open the page as one of the named approvers.
2. Click the three dots, then Approve or reject sign-off.
3. Click Approve, or enter a comment and click Reject.

A rejection requires a comment so the requester knows why. One rejection closes the request. The sign-off is approved only once every named approver has approved.

Stale approvals

An approval is recorded against the exact page version it was given for. When someone publishes a new version of the page, the sign-off changes to stale and keeps a record of the version that was approved. Request a new sign-off to approve the current version.

The space log

In the space sidebar, open Space apps, then Sign-offs. It lists every request in the space with the page, requester, approvers, status and timestamps. Show CSV produces the same table as comma separated values for audits.

Licensing

The app is licensed per user per month and billed by Atlassian under your existing subscription. Trials, renewals and cancellations follow Atlassian Marketplace policy. Without an active license, existing sign-off records stay visible and new requests are turned off.

What the app stores

Page and space ids, the Atlassian account ids of the requester and approvers, each decision with its comment and timestamp, and the page version numbers at request and approval time. All of it lives in Forge hosted storage inside your site's data region. The app makes no calls to servers outside Atlassian. Uninstalling removes the data.

Troubleshooting

• Approvers must be able to read this page. A named approver has no read access to that page or space. Fix the page or space permissions, or pick a different approver.
• A request is already pending on this page. Only one open request per page. Have the approvers decide, or wait for the current request to close.
• The menu item is missing. Reload the page. If it is still missing, confirm with your site admin that the app is installed.
